Have your library card number ready. For patrons with shorter (less than 14 digits) numbers, you must type "fml" before the number. Do not leave any spaces. You can see what you have out, when it is due, and renew items. Most items can be renewed up to three times on-line as long as no one has requested them. Videos and DVDs can be renewed once.
The On-Line Catalog: You can access our catalog from one of the library's catalog computers or from any computer that has internet access. The Falmouth Memorial Library is a member of the Minerva System. That means you can search the catalog for books, videos, audio books, and magazines owned by the Falmouth Memorial Library or by any or all of the more than 60 Minerva libraries. Use the pull down menu under "Type of search" to search by author, title, keywords, or subject. Use the pull down menu under "Select Library" to choose the Falmouth Memorial Library or all the libraries or any one of the other Minerva libraries. We suggest you choose either "Falmouth Memorial Library" or "ALL MINERVA LOCATIONS." Here is what it will look like:

To see only those items the Falmouth Library owns, in the pull down menu that says "All Minerva Locations," select "Falmouth Memorial Library." You can request items from other Minerva libraries that our library does not own. Simply find what you want and then click on the "Request" button at the top. You will need your library card number to complete the request. Your card must be current and clear of major unpaid charges. |
Library Cards
are available free to Falmouth residents and taxpayers. Falmouth educators and town employees also qualify for free cards. Nonresidents can get a library card for a $30 annual fee. You must apply in person and you must bring identification showing your current address when you apply. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian also sign the application. (See Borrowing Policies below.) You will need your card when you check out or renew items or place items on hold. If you lose your card, we charge $1 to replace it.
You will not be able to check out or renew items for other people (even if they are in your family) unless the card-holder has given us written permission to do so. Parents who wish to check on the status of a child's record will need the child's card to do so. |

Borrowing Policies
Most of our items can be renewed on-line, over the phone, or in person up to three times as long as the item has not been requested by anyone. Make sure you have your card # handy. Items borrowed from other libraries may have different borrowing policies.

For videos and DVDs the charge is $1 per day per item with a maximum of $5 per item. Patrons will also be billed for lost and damaged items. |
Patrons will have their borrowing privileges suspended if any of the following apply:
--- They have been billed for an item that has been lost or damaged and not paid for.
---They have any items more than 2 weeks overdue.
---They have a video or DVD more than 5 days overdue.
---They have more than $5 in fines on their card.
